01What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with the site.

This Cookie Policy explains how ibute.tech uses cookies and similar technologies, what each cookie does, how long it lasts, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Two related but different time periods

A cookie’s lifespan is how long the file stays on your device. That is separate from how long the destination service (e.g. Google Analytics) retains the dataderived from it. Both are shown below where relevant so the two figures don’t look contradictory.

02How We Use Cookies

ibute.tech uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • To make the site work — strictly necessary cookies that enable core functionality and remember your cookie consent choice.
  • To understand usage — analytics cookies that tell us which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where they came from, so we can improve content. These only run with your consent.
  • To remember preferences — functional cookies that store choices you make (where applicable).

We use a CookieYes consent banner to manage your preferences. No analytics or marketing cookies are set until you give explicit consent. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent because the site cannot function without them.

05Managing Cookies in Your Browser

In addition to our consent banner, you can control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works.

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

06Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry-wide standard for how sites should respond to DNT signals. ibute.tech honours your explicit choices through our consent banner; we do not separately respond to browser DNT signals, but rejecting analytics cookies in our banner achieves the same outcome.

07Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
